89 rex si stuck in 2nd

ok, that really sucks! So, can I use a DX tranny or not? I noticed on the Transmission spec post under the reference section, that gear ratios are the same. And they both appear to be L3 trannys. So correct me if I am wrong the only question is, are the splines the same or not? where the hell...

89 rex si stuck in 2nd

I did, and it does. Seems to hook up just fine with the power you would expect from starting in 2nd gear.

89 rex si stuck in 2nd

I am about to buy an 89 rex si, for $100, yup $100. Motors strong, interior is decient, body needs some tlc. But right now it won't shift out of 2nd gear. The clutch engages fine, but the shifter is stiff and does not have that smooth throw feel. I'm thinking linkage, but don't know for...

    Back to square one.

Great to hear! Let me know how the Nitro goes. So were you able to determine if it was the regulator or Diodes? Did you repair yours or just buy a new one?

    pissedoffsol my corvette eat you

Not going to argue your numbers. No point. But I still like the NSX. As far as $, that's why I put in () assuming equal price, otherwise I would have to go with the 3000gt VR4 or Supra TT. But hell if all liked the same car, this world would suck and we might as well drive brown Pintos at...

    pissedoffsol my corvette eat you

Now that I have stopped laughing, I thought I would give my OPINION! I must say I love Corvettes, they are the mark of american automotive excellence. I am especially fond of the early 60's models, one in particular would be the 63 Sting Ray split window. There's something about an american...

    who to trust?

Yeah but your a vendor, people expect you to be honest. I am more worried about buying used parts from someone I don't know. I would like to think a guy could trust the people on the this forum, but unfortunately, I have already seen that you can't trust everyone. Which sux, because this a...

I appreciate all of your feedback. As far as other places to buy good used parts, any ideas?

    Back to square one.

Your hotwire of the fuel pump would work fine when the engine is off. That is because, what ever is causing your problem is only drawing on the electrical system when running. And therefore it would make sense that when you start the car the fuel pump begins to pulsate. I bet if put a...

    who to trust?

I hope this is the right place for this discussion. If not sorry to waste time. Anyway, I am wanting to buy parts from some guys on this forum. But they all seem to be Noobs. That makes me a little nervous. I read about that guy who bought a engine and got stiffed for the $1600 buck the...

    h22a into 96 civic

I would welcome the challenge of doing it myself, that is if I could potentially be without a car for a week or so while irioning out all the issues. If you can, do it. As for me, when the time comes (soon I hope) I will be paying my local shop the $800-1000 they quoted. Have fun :spin:

    Back to square one.

On your previous post someone mentioned that you should check your alternator. I used to rebuild them. It is very common for an alternator to cause wierd electrical issues. The fading in and out at a constant rythmic pace is a common symptom of a faillng alternator. Fuel system and other...
