I built this car for my family to drive and we have for over a year now, but have just outgrown it. We have taken it on many weekend trips and even took it on a week vacation last year. It has seen 15,000 miles or so since the swap.
1998 Civic LX.
-JDM GSR swap off of ebay
-Bilstien shocks...
The factory got those tubes in there somehow. If you have an electrican in you family they may be able to help as they are used to fishing wire through walls! Having you car with a sunroof will make it more desirable if you ever have to sell it. I'm sure you could find a panel for a 2nd gen...
If your decent with a welder ( and have one ) you could weld it up or I used small rod and welded in a edge for a piece of lexan to set in. I used a little bit of heat to get the lexan to lay down on the corners. After I trimmed and fit the piece of Lexan and got everything to set flush. I was...
10,000 miles and going strong. Still don't think the swap was worth it....but it is a lot more fun to drive and it has enough power to haul my family and all of our stuff. I should have just bought a bigger Acura something and been a lot happier. Don't do a swap like this unless you are in...
I have just completed a GSR swap in a 98 Civic! I have Teg rear disc and the larger 1" bore master, but Ex front brakes don't bolt onto my LX knuckles ( learned this after the fact). If I am going to swap out the knuckles should I go with something else or just go to the EX Knuckles with the...
If this is OBD 1 then you should just need to wire up one O2 sensor. The wires should be near the oil filter. Good luck with your project. The wiring is the hardest thing to get worked out! I hope your good with a volt meter!
If Only
Any of these sites that have been posted for me to look at did not carry a conversion harness for the P72-901 ECU. I tried this to begin with before doing any wiring. Everyone that I ask just laughed. I even talked with Katman at ff-squad and his comment was ( Oh you have that dreaded...
I have been on every web site that any of you have mentioned. None of them had the info that I needed or sold a jumper harness. The engine harness that came with the car was different in every way from the one with the engine. The engine one was part of the dash harness that had to be cut...
I am certainly on the way to making this thing right. The pinouts have most everything working. I still have not found were to hook up the shift lock to the control unit. I think I will just do a relay to make it unlock when you hit the brake pedal. I like every thing to work correctly. I...
Finally I think I have found the answer I was looking for. If anyone needs the pin outs for an P72 auto JDM ECU you should be able to find them on this page JDM OBD-I P72 Automatic ECM/ECU Pinouts - JDM B18C Honda Integra SiR-G
Thanks Randy
Ok, this is an Auto ECU that no one has the pinouts for! It is a P72-901. Because of this I won't be able to purchase any adapter harness that will plug and play!
What I need is to know what Auto ECU would be the best to use and I will get the harness that matches that ecu! Does anyone...
I would have used that, but the company that sent me the swap sent a OBD I engine and harness instead of an OBD II unit! I needed to use the OBD I ecu and I don't have the pinouts for this particular ecu!
Needed OBD 1 or 2 from an automatic Integra GS or LS ECU and engine wiring harness. I have a B18C auto in a 98 Civic and the control unit that was sent to me is a P72-901 which now one knows how to wire! I need to get a control unit and harness that I can find some documentation on!
I am a lot closer, but still only have 2nd and 4th gear on the transmission! I have found that the two lock up solenoids on the transmission aren't wired up! I would assume that they need to go to the control unit, but I don't know for sure since the look like they would go in the direction of...
I don't think that you will be able to get either one of those to bolt up. I just put a GSR Auto into a 98 4dr and I had to buy a a/c bracket from a Del Sol for $100 on Ebay. That let me keep all the A/C lines and compressor the same. I think that the A/C compressor will bolt up, but you will...
That recirculating catch can is for fuel vapors. Like I was saying it would be better to leave it in the air intake tube, but for those who chose to run a different air filter system like a cold air intake, sometimes they do not have provisions for this and you have to run a oil breather.
I reread the first post and it occured to me that you used Brake clean and not carb clean. Most of your brake clean is non-flamable these days. I would diffinetly check your spark plugs. I tried starting a pressure washer that I had let set all winter and I had problems. I grabbed a can of...
