With moving camera footage taken from altitude of white-on-white angles and surfaces, it's VERY difficult to tell if it's really 90 degree angles to the ice. The fisheye from the lens tricks us, the movement of the helicopter tricks us, and the whites trick us.

Unless you're REALLY used to seeing white, like Klyph or someone that spends lots of time with it.

It looked really weird to me too. I've never seen ice break so cleanly over such a large area. It looked unnatural to me.
