easier than expected. hyundai puts the shop/electrical manuals on their website FOR FREE (take note, other manufacturers) . so i had decent instructions for about 60% of the work. just took forever since i was not really motivated, and had to pull an alarm out from the previous owner. i would say a shop could do the swap on this car, in 6 or less hours.

i looped the coolant lines until we can get a proper flush of the block as the old core was blocked from iron scale.

Whats the normal stock hp/tq for the Veloster? seems like you made great gains from bolt ons.

just had "the talk" with kristen. when the elantra is ready to pass (will rot before it dies, like her escort) she'll take over payments on my V (probably... 2015, hoping the elantra makes it through that winter) and i'll pick up a new or new to me turbo

You must really like those cars man. Good on ya.

There are 3 doors and 4 seats in this one. Why ruin a good thing?

not really into those things. the veloster has a small receiver hitch on it. i can pull a trailer big enough for a quad if needed.

so... so far so good! my buddy put 87 in it while he was borrowing the car, caused a small rash of pinging otherwise all is well. i'm about 2000 miles deep.

one thing i dont like though is the raised idle - it constantly hunts between 700 and 1100. next time i see them i'm going to have them put it back. my mitsubishi used to hunt and it drove me insane because the car was much audibly louder.

and we close out the year with CART yesterday was the last event.

HTF is a focus ST in DSP? That's insane. That car is at least a B-stock car.

the GTI and Focus were both pushing north of 250whp. class me wherever no fucks given. i'll eat up the god damn points :) the problem with those two cars is they have excessive wheelspin in and out of cornering. the electric LSD in the focus is no match for a true mechanical diff. the GTI doesn't have a diff either.

the VT is classed as a DSP car... but that doesn't matter. the car just cannot get much faster even with the increased power. why? need stiffer back springs to keep the front more planted. or a diff of my own.

the VT guys have nearly confirmed that the tibby kaaz diff fits. someone is going to be test fitting over the next few months. if it's a go, i will immediately buy one. why? it's going to cost me 1200 or so for coilovers, or 1250 or so for a diff. the diff will be fruitful in every weather, road condition, whatever. coils will be summer only.

it was a big mistake getting the NGM springs. i should have picked up the eibachs, i would have done myself a favor with the increased stiffness.

Remember my fit? It had 800lb springs in the back, and 450 in the front. It used to have snap oversteer and understeer on the same course. Extremely neutral, but touchy.
