i got an obd0 dohc zc in my 89 si and its throwing up code 9 for the cylinder position sensor
ive tested all the resistance and everything and even changed the sensor and the dizzy is brand new also
ive checked over the wiring many times

usually, the code 9 is caused by one of the following:

    1. wires switched at the connector
    2. wires not making a good connection
    3. exhaust camshaft timing not correct
    4. bad cylinder sensor - this would be extremely rare - we have been working with the DOHC ZC for over 10 years and have swapped over 50 of them - we have never seen a bad cylinder sensor - i know that it sometimes happens but we have never seen it

mostly, we see incorrect camshaft timing or wiring as being the problem

the cylinder sensor is easy to check to see if it is o.k.
