A T66 turbo, definitely. Oh, and get a Motec system exhaust too. That's essential...

hello new to this forum stuff. but i have thought for your 98 gsr. the question you should be asking yourself is how much are you willing to spend? is the main question. and how how time are you willing to put up with it? i myself have thought going turbo also for quite sometime and now i own one. Here is a sample of my setup on a 95 gsr boostin at 10psi. Will first i wanted this to be reliable since it is going to be daily driven. I went with something small not to big, just enough to make power when i need it. My setup are following: garrett T3/T4 a/r .60 that i bought off ebay already been rebuild wiht a 3in downpipe. Ram horn turbo manifold, external wastegate set at 10psi, rc 550cc injector, fuel pressure regulator, omni 3 bar map senor ( i dint need this because stock map senor can read boost up 11.5psi), 255 walbro fuel pump, some unknown brand piping and intercooler, hks bov, hks turbo timer, stock fuel rail(good for upto 500hp), chip p28 tune on chrome.( no standalone mangement). the only replacement done was camshaft and skunk2 mani, replaced with itr camshaft the rest are stock (block and valvetrian) i spent roughly $1500 on all this including the dyno tune. freaking tunning was $150/hr it took 1 hour. i had it for two years now and still running strong. This is just to give you an idea of what you can do with your setup if you plan to.

so are you putting a solenoid on the waste gate so you can change boost when vtec kicks?

that would be a good idea. oh put a spoon somewhere in the valve train.
