This is a cheap way to lower your car about 2 to .5 inches depending the type of springs you have. Please don't make fun of me it was just a idea that worked.

First go to the hardware store and buy about 2 - 4 for each spring or more of those looped kind of screw down clamps for rubber pipe fitting things that tighten down which are less than a doller each.

if you know dont know what im talking about email me and i will find you a picture

loop this thing around as many coils as you can and tighten it down. not too much
or it will strip

then roll over to your friends house and get asmany people on the front crossmember as you can so the coils will get crunched togather and tighten them down as much as you can but be carefull not to strip it.

make sure when you do this put 1 on each side of the spring so the springs will be even when you clamp them.

if you are scared that they might break don't worry i have been riding on the same ones for a month and they work fine

please write back and tell me how it worked for you.

thanks

they actually make clamps just for the purpose of lowering your car.
ive seen them at a local performance shop. not a good idea tho. id spend the $120 on a set of lowering springs.

watch one of those clamps fly off when your driving and ricochet towards the car next to you.

if you want to be that cheap just cut the stock springs

ya but your ride will be like crap and you won't be able to adjust it back to stock

you said cheap way to lower a car right?? does it say anything about a good ride??
cheap = shitty ride
cheap = nonadjustable
but yea, good job on the cheap way out

I had this great idea, I'm gonna take a spoiler off a dodge caravan and some 3ft 2by4's bolt them together and spray paint the 2by4's and cover the spoiler in tin foil then while I have the foil out I'll coat my hub caps too then i'll be a cheap M/F and put hose clamps on my springs to lower my car, so it will take the attention away from my ford escort that is hidden under it all. Sorry for being such an ass but seriously what is coming from this it doesnt increase performance of your suspension nor does it give any kind of style to your ride so what the fuck?

umm... stop being so cheap. i understand being broke and not having the money, but be like teh rest of us and SAVE UP!

worst. idea. ever.

what happens if you dont have enough money to properly mod your car (i.e. buying fucking lowering springs)?

you dont!!!!! kinda like...what happens if you dont have enough loot for gas? you dont drive!!! or, in your case, you make up some idea to attach your car to other moving vehicles and exploit your level of mental disability to the nation

damn and i thought cutting stock springs was the bottom of the barrel....

seriously- be 1% less cool and leave your car at factory ride height until you get enough $$ for springs/coilovers :)

lowering a car doesn't mean it will handel better.

doing what you say, will probably make it handel like a Mack truck.

this thread, really, really sucks.... and before you embarass yourself even more, im going to close this thread down.
