AutoX is for wusses, Real Men do it on Ice + Snow

Every year they have a Rally cross up here and I always want to go but never actually take the leap. This year, having a car I don't give a crap about, I decided to race. My buddy had done it in the past and when he did it, it really was just like an autocross on a snowy parking. Well this year, they managed to have a local quary owner allow them to set an actual rally track up on their land. Cool experience, although defently a little on the extreme side. The track was about a mile and a half long, with lots of elevation change and with blowing snow at the summit, it was kinda crazy. Didn't really snap to many pics of actual action shots because my camera's zoom sucks but hope you enjoy none the less

Smashed a snow barrier at about 20, this side of my car went about a foot in the air, and somehow this was the only damage

The last heat, the track was pure ice. Needless to say, I got stuck in the same snowbank as just about half the field. This pic shows how high the snow was, and that was right outside my door.

neat. Usually the sports car club of vermont has an ice track on Mallets bay. I havent been out to see if they made it yet since we dont have too much snow or thick enough ice. Doing it on ice is awesome!

yeah. me too, but i definately wouldnt take the mirage. i would go nowhere.

There were a few people that tryied doing it in normal all seasons (that green subaru and the blue sunfire were the two that I saw).

Results came in and I finished 4 of 7 in FWD class. I blame my shitty tires. I have Dunlop DS-2's and they SUCK. They're no Blizzak WS50's.

I did something similar two years ago at InControl at Weymouth AFB. It was pretty much 5 WRXs going sideways while my Civic understeered, oversteered or spun helplessly out of control.
