people can barely get away with 10 lbs from a turbo that has a .50ar (say a t3/t4), with a good tune, on stock internals, and pump gas... a t70 has tons more cfm's than a t3/t4. 6 or 7 lbs from a t70 is not gonna fucking happen lol. 7 lbs from a t70 is like 28 lbs from a t3/t4 lol. That's not exact, but you get the point...

Plus, it'll take a stock B16 for-fucking-ever to get that t70 spooling lol

I don't think they make 2 lb wastegate springs but go ahead and try 2 lbs lol...

12 lbs from a t70 on stock internals? You guys either buy the strongest b16's on the planet or you guys have Jesus as your tuner...

sc61 and gt35 are much better choices than the t70.

lol we kinda new the outcome of the 12lbs on that b16 but he did it to see if he could keep up with the new z06, but in fact he blew the motor, so i kindly took the kit off his hands because he is now jumping on the k20 bandwagon... my friend was just telling my to put the ls pistons in it to lower the compression.
thanks for the feed back guys just trying to have a fun DD not a 1320 car

LS pistons in a B16 will make stupid low compression for daily driving. Your car will feel like a slug when you're just drving to work and shit. The biggest myth about boost is that the lower compression you go, the more you can boost and the safer it is. People lower compression for several reasons when boosting but the main reasons are to be able to run pump gas so they won't detonate to hell. Plus, the power you lose when lowering comression you'll just have to make up with boost. So in essence, a motor with 9:1 compression with a sc61 on 10 pounds would make 300hp and a motor with 10:1 compression with a sc61 on 5 pounds would make 300hp. Those are just numbers i threw out so don't think those are real-world numbers lol.

With any build though, tuning is the key. What ever you decide, go find a good Crome(or any other program you like) tuner and tell him to work his magic.

IMO, if you want a fun DD, mildly build your B16 and throw a 60-100 shot on it. And I don't even mean mildy building while touching the internals except for maybe springs retainers, and cams.

A B16 with I/H/E, GSR cams, Type R Intake manifold (or something equivalent, no overkill manifold like the Victor X) lightweight flywheel, good clutch setup (Exedy, ACT, ect...) and an 80 shot would be a little beast during the weekend...

You're more of an n/a person then why are you trying to boost?

forged pistons and rods along with arp rod bolts and arp headstuds will allow you to boost more to a certain extent. the thing that will actually allow you to boost in the best and safest way is a tune. If you don't tune, don't even bother building the motor, you'll roast forged parts too without a tune.

Well then just get a smaller turbo, leave the block stock, run no more than 7 lbs and run an fmu for fuel management. This method will last only a couple months but it'll hold you down until you're done with yout ITB'd ls/vtec.

...you're right, I'm sure your's will run fine. You're running a completely different setup, T70 on a Stock B16... oh wait.
