b17 trans?

i just purchased a db1 and i want to get a b17 trans but im stuck between that or a b16 trans but im confused on one thing, i know that there are to diff final drives in the b16 trans one with 4:4 and one with a 4:2 if im correct which is the way to tell them apart when up close on them? and which is a better buy?

I believe the code is different(Y1 vs. YS1, though some LS have YS1 too); but the GSR transmission has slightly closer gearing.

I'd say the GSR is only slightly better for a race application, but they're harder to find.

yea i seen a couple on vadriven but there is also a ls trans with lsd im not trying to rush into it i just dont like the long ls gearing. do you know the website that shows all the trans codes?

Well, I like FF-squads but don't know of any others, there may be one that's better.
