ok first off i have a stock b20b block with a 2000sir head, stock as well. i want put a turbo on it but i dont much about them and would just like to know what people think would be a good setup.

right now i am not running the vtec on the car, dont wanna push it to hard cause i want to have it as a daily driver but still pack a punch.

from what i have heard vtec is a lot of stress on a b20 cause it was meant to be an automatic engine but again i dont know that much about that which is why i would like some opinions.

i like the idea of turbo cause i love the sound of a bov but i need reliability at the same time

so if anyone has any suggestions or opinions im open to hear them :D

p.s. the car has a 2.5' header back exhaust with high flow cat and muffler, no res, if that makes a difference

Why aren't you running VTEC on your car, and might I ask how?

Also, you need to do lots of research bro. You can get away with about 200-220 whp on those stock internals before things go south for that bottom end.

If you're serious about this, do tons of research, then come back and ask specific questions. These questions are too broad for me to really answer. ;)

i have 2 ecu for the car, a race chipped p06 for the vtec and a stock one to run just a b20, that thing gets like 600kms a tank easy wen not running vtec, love it

i was thinking about a hybrid t3 but reading through some of the threads here and hearing some friends i may actually put a supercharger on it but i want to hear a few peoples opinions on what they would do if they had my b20vtec, leave it how it is, boost it ( if so what would you use), or supercharge it

i am looking into all my opinions, there are lots of different ones especially with different turbos and i dont know what exactly will give me what i am looking for so if people could start me off with something to look into instead of trying to go through every single opinion there is would be a bit easier on me

just looking for someones opinion, not how will this work or if i do that is it it good, i want to have a starting point for my research, i dont know too many people with a b20vtec let alone with turbo or a supercharger.
i know there are probably lots of people with them i just dont know them or heard from them, which is what i would like

i have a b20vtec that im planning on putting a jackson racing supercharger on. i have a stock b20z block. my b16a head is mildly built. i definitely do use vtec on mine!

my plan is to run it with the stock block and if problems develop, then ill build it better. from what i have learned the bottom end should be able to handle well over 200whp and make a lot of torque with boost. im sure a small turbo that spools quick and a good tune would be the same effect as a jrsc with a good tune.

Well, at least you said you would research, that'll get you further than anything else.

IMO, I would find a small turbo (T25) and just piece together the setup for your car. Get a manifold and run internal or ext. wastegate, whatever you choose, and keep it around 200 whp. You will enjoy that. Guaranteed.

    thanks guys
i think i will start on a turbo setuip unless i find a cheap jrsc but i think i like te idea of jrsc better then turbo

from what i am reading it makes tons more power then a turbo if tuned and built properly

if i were to run an 8psi boost on it, what would the rough numbers be
my buddy just bought a 86.5 supra and i would like to beat it if i could

you should be able to get into the high 12's no problem with the jrsc at 8 psi
