I have been unable to find a car within 20 miles that i want but have found 2 that are both approx 80 miles away. I have no Idea what is the best way to get the car to my house. Anyone have any ideas or know any people or companies that can help? Thanks in advance.

as he said he can't register it, and I've been told that you cannot tow a car unless it's registered too. <_<

I think the lady at the BMV was just tryin to get some cash out of me...which she did anyway.

80 miles is nothing. Chris and I were willing to drive a crx 575 miles back to my house using his tags. Wuss!

j/k

when my friend bought his CRX we drove it almost 90 miles on a set of KIA tags, this CRX barely had an EXHAUST was loud as hell and had less than a 1/8th tank of gas, it made fine... plus I was following him...

it won't be registered yet and i wouldnt have plates for it.

1. take plates off current car

2. put plates on new car

3. drive home very carefully

Ive done the peice of paper taped in back that said "in transit" for about 3 days when i bought my car. Just drive it and have insurance on it. if a cop pulls you over tell him your story and show all the paperwork. not all cops are dicks.

I disagree. :D

At least around here...they're all just assholes. Of course I'm not a hot chick either, so yeah that doesn't help. <_<

if there is one thing i learned. being honest with cops will get you much further than having to explain why green kia plates are on a civic. Sorry to hear you live in a nazi town 8k. Cops around here are pretty chill i mean you get the pissed off ones every now and then but most are chill. ive even paid them off when i worked at a bar. they stand outside and play bodyguard i.e. turn their back to all the 18-20 year old college kids getting drunk.all for like 70 bux from each bar per night louisiana is a strange place...

Sometimes you can get a temporary plate for transit. I know you can in CT. Look into that or use someone else's plate and have a friend follow closly. I had no plate on my boat trailer for a while and no working lights all summer. My friend that also pulled my boat and myself never had any probelms. Its the roads you drive on, how unsuspicous you look, and try to look like you are legal.

Is it legal to get a uhaul with a towing thing that lifts that cars wheels totally off the ground and not have plates or insurance or registration?

i drove down to long island for my current car, had to drive it from one end to the other with my other CRX's plates on it and only one sticker in the windshield

throw mud on it , cops wont know :D

I drove more than 500 miles with the hatch, I drove all around buffalo lookin for a uhaul (it was a bad time). Then I just said fuck it saw a plate on an escort wrote the tag number on a peice of paper taped it in my window and drove home. I did about 70 the whole way home so it looked like it was a legal car...also at that time i didn't have a liscence. You'll be fine driving 80 miles, just take the tags off ur car and drive away, be smart do the speed limit and don't get caught in any situations.
