CEL code 12 EGR

Ok I ran a test and the code came up 12 which is exhaust gas recirculation lift valve. How can I fix this. I read I need to clean it but I have no idea where it is. Someone please help, possibly post a picture its location!

What motor? on a B16, it should be on the intake manifold runners.....mine is between runners #3 and #4. It can be cleaned but its also a cheap part that I would just replace. Yours must be full of gunky oil deposits.

D16Y8s don't have EGR valves.

I have whatever ecu came stock with the Si d16 engine? Im not really sure? I know my engine was swapped before I bought it to a d16y8, so I have no idea can you help? Im guessing it was the original ECU that was with the previous stock engine because it is looking for a EGR sensor hence thats why its throwing a code 12, when I dont have one on the motor.

Remove the passenger kick panel and find out what kind of ecu it is. There should be a sticker on the side of it.
