chipped ecu question help plz

K so i got a chipped p06 for my a6y8 mininme in a 1990 ef hatch
Do i need to get p06 tuned or can i drive it yhe way it is
The person i got it from said its on a universal basemap? Wtf is that
Someone help me out plz oh and can i use a6 water pump?

If the ECU has a rectangle/square cut out and a plug there for a cable to hook up to a laptop....then the chip can be tuned for a variety of set-ups. If you have no access hole cut out.....there is a specific basemap on it (no....not universal)

In any event, you need a tune (preferably dyno/tuned) to go any further.....safely.
