yes gold is a very good conductor, as long as it's not an alloy, it's got to be 99% gold. I wire bond (kinda like an ultrasonic welder) 1 micro gold wires on some of the load cell and pressure sensors we make at work, and at 99% gold that shit is so malleable you can't breathe on the shit or it breaks. once you start making gold alloys kiss that conduction good-bye. for a good conductor you want a metal w/ a shit load of electrons in it's outer valance ring.
