I've heard that if you tune for an exhaust and switch to an open dp it will lean out. So my question is why not tune for the open dp and run the full exhaust on the street. I like the idea of the perfomance with only a dp, but would like to run my car on the street, and not have to wear earplugs.
Also, what power gains would I get by going with a 3" dp instead of a 2.5 flared to a 3?

Exhaust diameter will affect spool time and boost pressure (but only if you're using a stock exhaust size). 3" will support upwards of 400 HP, so just get a 3" DP and 3" exhaust and you'll be set.
