ECU ?

OK i have a 97 civic ex with a 97 gsr computer but now i am putting in a 96 ls motor and im not sure if i can use the same ecu or if i need the ls ecu. if anyone could help me with thisit would be great, thanks all.

you can use it, but i advise not to, as you will get a check engine light for vtec malfunction, and it will go into safe mode and only tach out to like 7500.(which would be ok) but just get a jumperharness to obd-1 and run a chipped P28, or a obd 1 PR4.
