My apologies. I5 is along the coastline down by San Diego, and by the bay up in Seattle. Regardless, it's not that far from the coastline anyway.

Ya, I guess if you live in Indiana, it would be considered on the coast line. :p

what the hell, no wonder why cali is so dirty. There's like 9 variants of I80 up by san fran.

280, 380, 480, 580, 680, 780, 880, 980... Then there's the odd connecting piece I238.

580 and 880 go the same direction until castro valley.

US 78 should be close to you somewhere, 178 is a spin off route of 78.

If you name US routes then Fort wayne has US 24, US 27, US 30, US 33, and I69 running through it.

And we still have bad traffic. :p I grew up in Castro Valley, funny you mention that town. :)

NY is a HAIR closer to water than LA, but not much..... and the mass of water near LA is a lot more than the Hudson river or long island sound...

It also is further north. Do you study meteorology too? By the way, the biggest problem CA has is the mass amounts of ports. Boats all up and down the coast. New York has more electric cars per household than CA as well. It's already been doing more to clean the air. It WAS the dirtiest air city in the US in 1999.

How many of those Interstate freeways are 8 lanes going in each direction? To me, in light as shit traffic that would be fun as hell to drive on. The widest I've seen is on the west side of Indy on I465 which is something like 6 lanes for a few miles.

NYC still stinks.

Yes... they have a real litter problem. They have to clean the streets 2x a day to keep them from being dirty. That to me, is disgusting. But, I'm sure someone will say we do it here in CA too, somewhere.

James - the biggest freeway I know of only has 6 lanes in each direction. the 8 lanes in each direction (for a total of 16 is in LA (but I think that's for a 2 mile section before it becomes Carpool)

Most of them here are max 5 lane (total 10 lanes wide) with one being a carpool lane.

and that has what to do with anything?

new york has a port authority unit, which are basically cops.... its no stranger to shipping lanes.

lol where do you come up with that? most people in NYC don't even own a car.

NYC still stinks.
right......

and you come up with this figure where? I've spent many a weekends, and hell, i've even been to times square for NYE once. and i've never seen a litter crew.

not counting Harlem (and for you, not counting Compton) NYC is pretty damn clean.

im in NYC a lot
hell ive been there twice in the past week

NYC has definitely cleaned itself up a LOT since the 90s

if it wasnt for all of the traffic congestion and assholes NYC would be a nice place to live :D

Since they got the Porn out, the town has been great. I would like to take the bike into the city once this year. Imagine it would be fun.

I'd assume she means that the jetstream has a much greater effect on NYC then down in SoCal. Which might help some, but she also pointed out that NYC was the dirtiest air city in the US in '99, which means the jetstream isn't all that important keeping the air clean.

suicidal tendencies?

I took my ex business partner into the city once in the CRX. I managed to not only make him close his eyes (he was a really good driver himself, and pulled off some amazing things) but I made a huge black guy on the sidewalk scream like a little girl. I made it from 57th to Javits center in under 5 minutes, through the post office parking lot.

I made my passenger cringe and close his eyes when I drove under the open door of a semi and slid my mirror into the slot above his bumper to avoid a forklift. Not a scratch on it.

radical weather patterns have been seen since 99 too, that's all i'm saying. personally, i've never been to NYC, this is from people who live there. Telling me the 'revolution' with the electric car... they hate taking cabs or using public trans because it takes them 3 hours longer to get where they want to go.

I just looked around a bit to see what I could find, and that's what I came up with. Shoot me for being an idiot. When I said they had a litter problem I didn't mean that it was constant. There's a reason it's so clean. They have people come by twice a day or more to clean it up. Here, that doesn't happen. I've even been told by people who live there. That's all. Sorry for being a moron. Again.
