And while I'm on a rant,
Modern cars are enabling the idiocracy. This fucking car is a tub. It's enormous. There is no reason it has to be so goddam big. And it has 250 aibags and 1700 pounds of steel reinforcement and 400 pounds of plastic covers under the hood yet the suspension is spindly and cheap. It does everything that modern cars are expected to do : Good fuel economy (For being the size of a 76 Caddy it gets 40mpg), awesome leg room and 42 speakers. Oh, and satellite radio which is turning into Cable television.. there are just as many fucking ads on THAT are there were on radio when satellite radio was first sold.
And above 70mph I'm sure it was dangerous. I don't know, because it takes tidal forces on top of gravity to super charge that fat fuck to 65. Which is ok, because hitting the slightest bump in this behemoth is luxuriously absorbed by electronics, sensors, hydraulics, valves, and probably radioactive materials - Which makes it comfy as you're being tossed into the fucking break-down lane because it can't hold the pavement AT ALL. The car just flies out of control. I would be pissed.
Its a 2013 and it has 600 miles on it. So it's not beat in the slightest. But the seats are pure garbage, the braking is squirrelly as hell, and it's so long that the driver gets to the destination a couple minutes before the trunk.
This car is full of fail, and all modern cars that appeal to the idiocracy are full of fail as well. Oh, and the "manual" shifting does the same shit we were talking about in the Genesis thread: It doesn't really care what you want... it'll shift anyway. Which is particularly bad if you want to use it to launch in snow. It simply won't let you. the most useful feature of a "tip-tronic" selector ... and it doesn't even trust you with that nonsense.
And after driving a 10 year old, bottom of the line BMW for $6000 I was shocked - shocked I tell you to see that this car has a manual trunk release lever, no auto windows, a sloppy as shit cruise control and NONE of the other creature comforts that my BMW has.
