ive posted this on another forum.. and now im coming
here for your opinion..

i have a 98 honda civic coupe and was debating on 2 swaps
that i might possibly do..and maybe you guys can help
me decide... 1) b16a2 (SI) or 2) b18b (LS) i need to choose
by this week..

thanks.

depends on what you want to do, turbo, n/a do you want vtec do you want a bunch of tq? do you want Hp do you have a lot of money to spend? answer those and maybe we can lead you in the path. me personally i would go ls then go ls/vtec or if you not into taking apart an engine just go b16 or for the more bang for the buck go b18c1/5 :D

i would build the ls.....in the long run more power less money....and you can always go vtec

yea the torque is nice =/

maybe im planning to boost in the future..ive seen some good numbers
on just stock internals...

HARD TO DECIDE

anymore opinions =)

i still say the LS.

I hate b16s, if you wanted vtec don't waste your money on one of those peices of junk (sorry guys, I hate those things), at minimum go with the GSR.

Turbo LS's put down nice power with stock internals.

Turbo GSR's are insane.

Defnitly go with the LS or GSR. Why start with 1.6 if you're gonna upgrade later.

MY PROBLEM IS 99-00 B16 BOLTS RIGHT UP BUT ITS TORQUELESS
B18B LS BOLTS UP BUT WITH A COUPLE THINGS NEEDED...
BUT THE TORQUE BACKS UP FOR THE HORSEPOWER

THIS IS GOING INTO A 98 COUPE.. AND WAS WONDERING
HOW HARD IS IT. OR WHAT PARTS ARE NEEDED TO SWAP
IN A 94 B18B MOTOR?

CAUSE THIS LS MOTOR IS A 94 AND COMES WITH A GSR TRANNY

you can either

convert the motor to ob2
dizzy
injectors (not sure if you have to)
few miscellaneous little sensors

or

convert to obd1 whihc is a much better choice. You need a conversion harness and a couple little parts. I never had to convert so someone else can tell you exactly what you need.
