Just as often as getting cut off by an a hole in a car this is another thing every biker has to deal with; people constantly sharing a story of someone they know or heard about that died on a motorcycle, or got into some accident. I've heard so many damn stories I could write a book if not for my terrible memory. We get it. Motorcycles are dangerous.

Im not meaning to imply that you or anyone else is being preechy. Just saying that for some reason a lot of people (read: damn near everyone) feel the need to tell motorcyclists their horror stories of riding. Well not actually riding because its mostly non riders that tell you the stories. I don't think I've ran into a fellow rider that randomly brought up a story of someone's death. But if they do its more of a cautionary tale that's not just focusing on the death but more of the lesson learned. Its hard to explain but there is a difference. Non riders are kind of like those too hot for tv shows. Going more for the wow factor than anything else.
Its like pasting a picture of the Columbia explosion on the windshield of the space shuttle. Im sure the astronauts know the dangers that lie ahead and are already thinking about what could happen. They dont really need another reminder.
At least this story has some interesting pictures. The biker in me just rolls my eyes. But the rest is just thinkin DAAAAMN!

I dont need to repeat any horror stories about bikes. I witnessed my own, a few years back my old man laid his bike down to avoid hitting a guy on a four wheeler that was drunk pulling a sprayer with the booms out. Long story short, he broke his femur in half below his hip, and above his knee. He was about an hour away from having his leg cut off but one surgery. I spent a week sleeping on the couch in a hospital waiting room.

But your right, you dont run around repeating these kinds of stories. Anyone I have told the story to has included the fact that he was wearing all the right gear and knew his bike well enough to know what it was and was not capable of. As a result he got a tiny bit of road rash on his leg along with the broken femur. And now he rides an even bigger bike haha.

    Yet you repeated it! lol

How about the guy that crashed at around 200mph? His head was ground almost completely off, he was torn to pieces, his foot found a mile away from what was left of his upper body.

Or the guy that hit a taco bell at 100+mph? That is one fucked up string of pics, foot lodged in the roof, torso went the entire way through the building (through the interior and exterior walls) and ended up out back laying on the curb, other bits and pieces of him were scattered through the building..

Shit happens. Riding a bike is more dangerous than cruising around in a cage. Yup. So what.
