How Can You Id A Tranny???

how can you id what kind of tranny u have?? , i cant manage to find the stamp on my tranny to id what kind it is. i was told it is a gsr tranny but i dont see where to confirm it? and say it doesnt have the stamp how else can you tell? is there anything specific to look for? thanks

Take it apart and count the teeth on the gears.

look at actual photos of possible matches and figure it out.

use the vin, if available.
