oh i know the prison system is a shit hole and more often than not a place where criminals learn more extravagant crimes... but he obviously isn't doing shit about making some type of forward progress when left to his own freedoms on the street
i mean for fuck sake he is on probation, and is still fucking off getting felony arrest charges and getting himself all fucked up and addicted to meth, heroin, and who the fuck knows what else... i wouldn't exactly say he is acting as if he is even remotely willing to straighten his shit out right now
the problem here is, he has no self control... and regardless of what he says he wants, his actions show no signs of him wanting to get his life in order.. until he learns some self control, this story will keep replaying over and fucking over, until we stop hearing from him because he is in jail or dead... if he doesn't end up in jail and he doesn't make a drastic change really fucking soon he will be overdosed or dead from some other drug related something or other within a year

I agree but straight prison is probably not the best bet. While they are severely lacking in being wide-spread, there are other options out there, even through the penal system, that may fit his situation better. It sounds like he needs a rehab type situation that he can't check himself out of. While prison sounds exactly like that, heroin withdrawal can kill you if not handled right. A prison will do one of two things, 1)do nothing and possibly let him die, 2)give him something for the pain which may start something else entirely.

some type of court appointed locked the fuck down rehab sounds like it would be ideal

either way it seems at this point it needs to be taken out of his hands... he has proven he cant handle it himself
