I wanted to share a story for you guys. So my car is coming close to having all it's body work done, i just bought all new trim, sunroof the works. Only thing i need left is a hood and windshield. Well after searching around i cant find any stock hoods for 90 CRX unless i wanna pay like 300 bucks. I tested my luck today at the junkyard to find a hood, now this is the 1st time ive been to any junkyard around my area since ive moved here ( been here for 8 years now) because i never really knew of any good honda wielding junkyards. So im searching and searching for honda's and i found a couple, a B20b8 and a couple single cam F22's laying around in some wrecked cars. But to my dismay i couldnt find a honda that fits my year to yank off the hood. So im getting to the very last row of smashed cars and there it is, an 88 civic looking right at me and the very end of the row. I got kind of excited thinking this would be my big break. As i approached i was quickly stricken down to see NO HOOD on the car. I was about ready to give up, go home and start the searching process all over again when there is was. The hood off the car was is amazing condition laying behind the car! and man was i happy as shit. So i paid for it and took it home.

So now that you guys have heard my little story, has anyone had any good junkyard shopping experiences they want to share?

I called a junkyard, asked if they had any 86-91 3 series out there, just by luck, they said yeah, we have a 318is. I was like BADASS!!!! BRTDAWGGG!!!! got there, walked the 3 acre junkyard twice before i stumbled upon this mid to late 90's bmw hatchback. It was so torn apart that there was seriously nothing usefull on the car. I left pissed off. I also went back later and asked for 97 stratus head lights, they told me 90 bucks a piece for yellowed ones. I told them to go to hell.

A few weeks ago I was told $150 for a used driverside Integra headlight. Generally junkyards in my area suck when dealing with imports.

I'm sure a few boi racers went in there running their mouths and ruined it for everyone. Ass clowns.

You newer car guys don't have to deal with junkyards as much as us 3g Civic/1G CRX guys do... It's all in your impression. You've got to be the friendliest, most personable person on the planet. Treat it like a job interview and you'll get what you're looking for at a reasonable price.

everytime i would look for crx parts i would stumble across a couple but they were all torn to hell just for some simple parts. just to get behind the dash they would yank every peice of trim and panel. i always get pissed. why cant people just use some tools and take shit off the right way. i know its a junk yard but cmon. those are pieces that are hard to find on an already hard to find car. :(

I bought a complete interior for my 93 dx from an all honda yard here in atlanta a while back, for $300. They gave me everything. The only complaint I have is that I went and picked it out (it wasnt a pick n pull), paid for it, and said I would come back the next morning to pick it up. When I got there I saw someone getting into their car holding my front door panels. The claimed they didnt know what happened to the panels. I didnt really get too upset because they said they would let me know when another set came in, plus i didnt ask for the front seats, but they had thrown them in the pile with the rest of the stuff. I still havent heard from them, go figure.

Yeah it was almost two years ago. I just painted the ones I had and they look fine so no worries. You cant expect a junk man to be too careful.

yea there's one about 10 min away from the house but the import sides pretty shitty. Nothing like the utopia you speak of.

the ricers ruined all of it for us here in tally. every redneck thinks just because it ''honda'' kids will pay anything. I had someone offering to sell me a crx through a friend. It was a carbutated 90-91 with damaged fenders, screwed on bumpers and mismatched interior. He was like,'' dont ya'll put like bodykits and shit and lower them? and put some 1.6ltr motor in them?" he wanted 1500. yeah right.

these junkyards here suck for hondas.....
