My mouth is a little dry....I think Chris just went into convulsions.
Better in my mind I guess. But I think it applies to a lot of car guys. Example- Is a true Shelby Cobra worth more than a really nice replica? For my money, no. I plan to drive it. In the same breath, is a numbers matching classic more valuable than a clone? Not to me. A car is the sum of its parts, not numbers stamped on those parts. No matter the brand.5G chassis evos in the US are rarer than skylines. this version comes with power everything, to boot. TME GSR.... most coveted model ever.
i'd like to see you personally get something better for 20K. you cant bullshit this, here they dont make anything even now that could outperform this on the street, track, or in the dirt for this money.
For the right price I'd drive a lot of things.a replica cobra is a replica. its pretty much the same thing built with off the shelf parts or out of a magazine. a matching numbers car will always be worth more but i completely agree with you on value vs driveability.
there are things missing in converted mirages - frame gussets. the stitch welds vs pinch welds.
for the money i'd also grab something else. but for the right price i'd drive it for sure!
I see your point. You pointed out some areas that are actually different. It isn't just number stamps at that point. It's actual construction.and i'm with you... but in the sense of mirage vs evo if you can get a real factory one then it is worth it.
