Yet in New York City its Impossible for me to own & operate a firearm due to excessive cost & carry restrictions.

sue the state, shouldnt be hard, but it will cost you some money.
the excessive taxes and fees are infringing on your right to bear arms.
a good attorney would take it. and be able to make a case.

people expect to be able to do a lot, but still bash the government. thats what i don't like. people who enjoy the freedom, but contribute nothing to the betterment of the nation. if they were speaking out for the whole country, that would be one thing. but all too often the hippie protestors are fighting for themselves.

I promised not to get mixed up in this one until I got to this point of the thread.

The fact that the hippie protesters can go out and bash the government is one of the absolute greatest things about this country. You or I may not agree with what they have to say, but the fact that they have the right and the freedom to do so speaks volumes about what we still have left here. If you start stifling their speech, you start, literally, destroying America.

you are right. i agree with you....but...it's the same hippie protestors that have not and will NOT fight for the rights that they so effortlessly abuse.

I remember my grandfather telling me a story about coming back from WWII. He came back to a nazi supporter sitting outside the white house. To make a long story short, it was totally legit. He had fought for this douche bag to outright support the same group he had just went to war for. It doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me.

I also hate how people can get so caught up in protesting the war, that they forget to support our troops. It irritates the shit out of me. Don't protest to protest. Don't do it just because it's your RIGHT. Do it for the cause and to try to make a change. too many americans lose that vision.

What you're basically saying is if you choose not to go to war and fight for the US, you have no right to use those rights and freedoms granted to you simply because you're an American citizen?

Thats bullshit. I for one, am not military grade. I would bring the entire platoon down with my absolute laziness.

Therefore the bill of rights and other freedoms do not apply to me? Screw you too, Communist.

Protesting is one of several ways to get your point across to invoke a change in policy.

There hasn't been a war to protect our freedom since the 1940's.

Don't get all high and mighty because you serve a military force protecting corporate interests. You're not fighting for my freedom, don't expect respect from me, try earning it.

as i said, thats one of our rights? the freedom to choose whether or not we want to serve in our armed forces.

its a right, because we are BORN here, or made into a citizen legally.

the beauty of it is this: you dont have to serve to enjoy the rights we have have.

you're saying that it should be changed to were you have to serve to have those rights? huh, seems like you support everything this country was formed against.
wow.

all i'm saying is "respect the government". don't say "fuck the u.s.a" while you are protesting. don't say "fuck the government" while you are collecting welfare. don't say "fuck the military" while people are dying. Don't say, "fuck obama" when he is doing what he can.

There are different ways to protest. Martin Luther King did it the right way. Hippie liberals that think burning flags and smoking dope supports the cause can rot in hell.

i'm not saying that. and i don't need your respect.

all i'm saying is that many americans do not appreciate the "rights" that they have. i believe these "rights" are a privelage given from our forefathers.

just appreciate the fact that you (u.s. citizens) werent' born in a communist country. appreciate it, enjoy it, utilize it, but don't ever forget what it took to get here.

wow.
no, you don't have to serve. i'm not asking that. all i'm saying is that if you did serve, americans would have a greater appreciation for their rights and wouldn't be so quick to bash the U.S.A.

your belief is wrong, you have two contradicting terms there, these are rights given to us by our forefathers, not privileges.

they are the ones who named them our rights. i think they would know the difference. hence their wording.

just appreciate the fact that you (u.s. citizens) werent' born in a communist country. appreciate it, enjoy it, utilize it, but don't ever forget what it took to get here.

you are the one forgetting what it took to get here, calling them out of date. and you are trying to word it as though you are saying good things, but you are not, you are speaking as a communist, or a socialist would.

by saying we should have to serve for our rights, and that our rights are only privileges and everything else you have said, thats not freedom guy, nowhere near it.

our country promises RIGHTS, you are twisting them in with privileges, rights cannot and should not be taken away.
privileges are there to be taken away if abused or neglected.

but thats why this is america, we dont have to serve, we dont have to appreciate, we dont have to like it, we dont have to keep our mouths shut.
WE DONT HAVE TO

you are standing up for everything, everything our founders fought against.
you, and the ideas you stand for, are whats wrong with people, and whats wrong with this country.

stop saying that i said you need to serve to get these rights. i'm saying that your (americans) view of them would change if they had served.

ugh. there are many people on this board that don't like the direction this country is going in. would you call B a communist if he was running the country the way it SHOULD be? no. it's all in the view you choose to believe in. there is no middle ground.

fuck me this is going in the wrong direction.

you know what would make me really happy? if EVERYBODY in this country would stand up and shut the fuck up when the national anthem is played. how about that. am i still communist?

thats how you worded it

ugh. there are many people on this board that don't like the direction this country is going in. would you call B a communist if he was running the country the way it SHOULD be? no. it's all in the view you choose to believe in. there is no middle ground.

no, because i believe that B has enough sense and knowledge of how the constitution was written to know where things need to be.
something that most politicians are blinded from seeing by the money that is shoved to them by the highest bidder.

i agree that there is no middle ground, its just that your views are wrong, and your opinion goes against fact, so in turn, those are wrong too.

you know what would make me really happy? if EVERYBODY in this country would stand up and shut the fuck up when the national anthem is played. how about that. am i still communist?

no not communist.
but they dont have to. they are free to speak during that time, its then choosing to express their rights at that moment in time.

thats like telling me that i should bow my head close my eyes when people pray around me.
not going to happen. you cant tell people that they cant speak and have to stand up at a baseball game just because the national anthem is being played.
hell, thats about the only time that is sung. at the beginning of a sporting event.

must be outdated.

you know the funny part? this is probably the only country in the world that most of its own citizens dont know all of the words to the national anthem, and if it wasnt for sporting events, even less would know it.

but once again, freedom. rights.

i'd be happy if you all would spell 'privilege' right.

Why should I respect a government that just throws money at problems, and 3 months later looks back and says "fuck, we shouldn't have done that"?

You're telling me I have no right to protest the government? I say you're wrong, because our founding fathers were far more intelligent than you are.
