i have an 89 crx si and plan on doing an ls swap soon, im just debating on what tranny to use. i've been messing with the calculator and the difference that i see is mph @ X rmp. i'm not really concerned with top speed, but im not sure if i wanna be on the highway doing 65 @4000 rpm's. but where i live, there's a lot of canyon roads and a lot of turns... any opinions/suggestions/experiences with either tranny?

b18 tranny = long gears, casual highway cruising, popular with boosted cars
b16 tranny = short gears, will provide a noticable performance gain, annoying on long highway road trips.

B16 tranny =

Go for the numerically highest gearing and the shortest tire diameter possible if you want awesome 1/4 mile performance. However, your motor will be turning quite alot of rpm when going 70 mph on the interstate. Then again, if high cruising rpm doesn't bother you, I would say go for it.
