You're going to need to drop an LS bottom end under your B16 head. You'll need a VTEC conversion setup (new dowels, HG, and run oil lines) and a tune on top of everything to compensate for the displacement you gain.
Nope, it's a very common thing to do. Especially with a turbo setup. An LS-VTEC with a decent piston and rod combination can easily make 400whp all day.
