I have recently purchased a 1997 honda civic hatchback with d16y7 and not knowing anything about them what would be the best engine swap for this car. I have always been a mitsu. man

Pretty much and B series Vtec motor will do just fine. If you got the money go for the ITR motor or maybe even the CTR motor. Or if you REALLY have the money do a nice frankanstein motor, LS/Vtec or a B20/Vtec. Or if you REALLY REALLY have the money swap a k20 in the civic. Or hell if you have no budget slap a K24 block along with a K20 head and boost the hell out of it.
