My Gsr Swap Is Slow!! Need Help!!

    HEY PEOPLE.. WELL FIRST OF ALL I'M NEW IN THIS WEBSITE.. SO YEAH.. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY CAR.. I HAVE A 98 HATCH W/ A 95 ENGINE.. I SWAPPED IT LEGALLY.. WHEN IT WAS DONE SWAPPING.. I TOOK IT OUT TO RACE MY BUDDY'S 99 HONDA CIVIC SI COUPE.. I LET HIM TAKE OFF.. CAUSE THOUGHT I WOULD CATCH HIM IN 3RD GEAR.. BUT NOPE.. HE BEAT ME.. I WAS DAMN.. :mad: I SPENT 3500 ON THE SWAP.. DONT GET ME WRONG ITS NOT DRIVER CAUSE I ALSO LET MY BROTHER IN LAW RACE IT AND STILL LOST TO MY BUDDY.. AND SUGGESTIONS?? HELP!! I'LL APPRECIATE UR HELP... :(

    Is VTEC working? Also, 99-00 Sis have much better gearing than your GSR does. When you let someone get out on you like that it takes a lot more HP to catch them. He only had 10 less HP and better gearing.

    Also, a 95 engine in a 1998 chassis isn't legal, but that's irrelevant.

    first, stop yelling. take of the damn caps lock. second, you are going to lose if you give someone the lead. if your motor is stock, i would try getting intake/header/exhaust.

    i think he was saying it was legal as in it isn't stolen. it's a legal swap in most states. only states with emissions laws are hard to get a swap.

    i would check the codes you have because if its slow to the point you are questioning the money spent then you more then likely have some problems

    like lateapex31 said 99 SI dont have that big hp diference to a gsr

    Its a b16 coupe and a gsr hatch..The hatch should have definitley got him if it was running right

    pull some codes and spend the extra money to get it dyno tuned. also do a compression test to make sure your engine is healthy. all cylinders should be +/-20psi of eachother. you'll thank yourself later for it.

    i've got a full engine swap with tranny, shift linkage, wiring harness, e.c.u., all of it is 100% pure japanese and acoupleof other things done to it. Ive beat a doped out SRT4neon, and a couple other cars and i've also beat an si so i dont now y u didn't beat the si do what (qet_nick) says do that if u want then you have a dopped out fucking civ peace:ph34r:

    you should have taken that 3500 and did a k swap for 2500 and spent the other 1000 on hondata and then you could have gave your friend a five car head start and beat him by 7 cars

    And a K swap is 2500 where now?Your atleast $2500 short and thats just for the price of the engine.

    well you can get a k20 on ebay for about 2k and some change and yes the k s alot better thats what i am going to do with the eg i buy

    well no not that one just regular but you can go cheaper if you get a k20 head with a k24 block or k20 head and k20 civic r block or k20 civic r and a regular k20 head

    check your codes to make sure it's actually running right and if none then do a compression test to see if you have any. i have a gsr with P&P head, rockett motorsports gen 2 valvetrain, M24 cams, and 11.5:1cr pistons, skunk2 intake, rmf header in a 92 hatch. i had a cel one time but didn't check it and decided to race a friends car that i should have smoked bad but didn't, fixxed the cel and now its no contest.



    moral of the story: fix your shit somethign isn't right.

    Yeah i dont feel that much of a vtec.. and also it start to kick vtec at 6000 rpm.. isnt it to late.. ?? Check this out i also raced a integra gsr,and also fuken lost.. i was pissed dude.. so what u think man?? what should be done to fixed this probleM??:mad:
