My honda civic isnt as fast as i would like be

In fact it tops out at 60 mph wat is the porblem im going down the interstate and this baby tops out at 60 i get laughes at by my freinds im a real loser and i love cars maybe the engine i put in it was wrong i need help!!!!!

what year moldle of civic is it and what motor is in it ? what do you mean by "tops out" does the rev limiter kick on ? or does it red line(highly unlikey) or does it just not acelerate ?

lol..i was just playin sorry bro..you probably just need a good tune-up,check your timing,get a new fuel filter,get some ngk or denso spark plugs,get a new a new distributor cap/rotor,check your ground connections,get a valve adjustment...tell me how the motor is running exactly..then ill look in my mechanics book and let you know what else it could be

Dude if you want to get answers that wil lhelp you, you need to give us more info on how the car is running. Does it just stop like a fuel cut? Or are you running out of gear? How does it sound when you are stepping on the gas?

I have a 2000 SI...2nd gear redlines right around 59-62 mph...it's weird, my Escort used to redline 2nd at 65-67 mph.

if it's not BS, then I think he just needs a tune up really bad... <_<

auto in 3rd can get 100mph...1 or 2 over..but thats all there is..that is if im WOT in every gear.... 4th drops rpm's respectably...but not much power...think i may have gotten my civic to 109mph downhill.....damn d16y7 ....b18c1 & auto to man swap soon

Sleepergtx, your SI has a lower 2nd gear top speed, most likely because of gear ratios, may seem funny but it is actually faster. My SI tops second like at 57 MPH, with a 6800 Redline.
