When my dads Civic headgasket blew the #3 cylinder was compressing the coolant system. No coolant was getting into the oil. If you look at a headgasket the coolant system is around the cylinder walls, its closer than the oil passages.

Also when the coolant system was being compressed in my dads Civic it blew a few rad hoses.

But also try a thermostat.

Try putting a radiator pressure tester on it and see what that says

Also... you don't need to bump every 10 minutes

I say replace thermostat. that's what it sounds like. But when you buy it buy the better one they have. It will probably be like 25 cents more and your getting a better part.

or just take it out long enough to see if that is your problem but it kinda sounds like the head gasket
