both my current and past systems have been eclipse head units and jl audio subs with infinity ref. interiors. I really really like the eclipse head units because of their cd key security feature. the last headunit was stolen and the guy was quickly aprehended because he tried to get the unit "fixed". If you don't know much about eclipe I would check them out.

The system will most likely be going in a 2001 chevy monte carlo ss. I figure 4 6X9's should be good for the doors and rear deck. I just need some ideas for subs, amp, and headunit.

well i have a good eclipse deck i will sell you for 150.00 +shipping workes great can get pics if you want lmk

i have a pioneer 7700 with 6.5 infinity kappa perfects front and rear and 2 kicker cvr 12", kicker zx350.4 for the kappa's and a kicker zx 750.1 for the subs and i just ran 4 guage to tsunami junction blocks that are 4 guage in and 4 guage out. the subs are in sealed boxes about 1.2 cubic feet each and it gets pretty loud, but i listen to fast heavy music. but the kappa's rock.

Alpine, kicker, jl, planet audio, ma audio. I've had it all including a few other brands (mtx, mb quart, image dynamics) and the best bang for my buck by far has been planet audio. I currently am running 2 planet m2 series dvc 15's with a planet bb1250.1 amp and planet components and 6x9's with a 200.4 planet 4 channel with a pioneer premier head unit on 4 gauge wire and a yellow top under the hood. The setup ran me roughly 1100 and beats harder than anything else I've had for that price. It's very very loud and with the component setup I have I can still hear every word through my mids/highs. Dont waste money on something because of a brand name. JL and Kicker are dope but you are paying for brand more than anything else... I have seen just as many people hit a 155db or higher with middle of the road brands as any other major brand and 90% of the time they paid half the price. Dont go buying jensen or sony and be expecting anything huge for your dollar though. I'd also stay away from lanzar, road gear, pioneer (subs, amps), or anything else you could pick up at wal-mart for that matter.
