Well, I've been shopping for a cheap laptop and found a good price on a Sony Vaio PCG-FRV26

Seemed decent, 2.8ghz p4, 512m ram, 64m ATI Raedon Video.. So I bought it, went and bought a gig of ram for it, and while looking for a video upgrade realized that you "cant" upgrade the video in it. Is that right?? If so, this sucks greatly and I will probably have a "laptop for sale" thread coming very soon.

Anyone have any idea how to upgrade the video to 128m in a PCG-FRV26?? I assumed that because it was ATI Raedon that it was a stand alone video card of sorts, but I'm new to the laptop world.. And it shows. The video ram is shared :(

Can I fix this?? Even going as far as to swap a motherboard or something?

best chance is to find a similar model vaio and grab the 128mb video board from it. if vaios are anything like acer/toshiba you CAN swap internal components out since they are seperate from the motherboard.
