its a very simple car! it has a little bit of pickup lol but they may be because ive removed about 150lbs from the car so far.

i shampooed the new seats and after i finish cleaning up the floorpan i'll put em in.

interesting to note 2nd gear tops out at ~45 ... that should be fun for autocross.

Removed all the extra shit from the trunk and backseat and vacuumed it out. Starting to wipe down the rest of the interior. Also replaced 2 light bulbs in the tails. Next step is to order shocks / struts then I'll move onto bushings.

    it is!

    i ordered up some stuff...

    tached cluster
front struts (bellows and mounts also) and rear shocks
    swaybar bushings / endlinks
    inner and outer tierod ends
    valve cover gasket
    spark plug wires

after this i SHOULD be able to pass state inspection and start putting some miles on the car.

monday i'm hoping to score a replacement steering wheel, front seatbelts, and the 03+ torsion arms so i can order the better control arms.

Last junkyard trip for this car hopefully. Netted me some of the updated torsion arms, wheel and visors. Ordered the updated control arms and new press in torsion rod bushings.

Got a sweet radio from Doug I'll wire up soon and a tached cluster that installed perfectly.

found the blower motor has a bad relay, hopefully getting a new one today which would fix that. i jumped it and warmed it up and it has good heat! i wonder if i put the AC belt and pulley back on, and if it works just needs a recharge.

installed the radio it works swell with my iPhone. also picked up a set of kenwood 6.5 speakers for the doors for 30 from best buy. cheapest new speakers ever!

The relay did not fix the problem. There may be something going on between the fuse and relay. Ok fix it later.

I replaced the bad bulbs in the center stack and installed all the trim.

I removed one of the torsion rod sleeves and got halfway through the second before I got tired lol.

Looks like a fun project! I love fixing up shitty old cars. I'll have to start a thread for my DD Civic.

    its not old lol

i was not successful pressing in the bushings myself. going to have a guy at work hopefully take care of it for me. once those are pressed in it will be time for the front end rebuild. should have the springs tomorrow. i've also decided to entirely forego the backseat idea, and tidied up back there. cut some of the wiring out, removed seat belts, cleaned up the surfaces and put the 2 rear side panels in. resecured the center panel.

Ha, alright then. I guess my 2000 Civic isn't old either then. :)

Let me know what you think of the H&Rs. I need shocks and I'm probably going to go with those same ones that you have with either H&R or Eibach Pro springs.

    2000? That's an old civic :p

I've used H&R A number of times. Love them. Hopefully they fit :)

Press at work operated by a friend made quick work of the bushings lol. Cost me a six pack. Took him about 30 seconds each.

IMG_2118.JPG Short of removing the door panels, the rear of the car is completed. All the nasty panels have been cleaned, the spilled dried drinks and food has been removed and washed. The car smells so much better too. I left the trim to cover up most of the wiring.

I am officially tickled pink to find maybe the last remaining set of new aftermarket springs for this vehicle. Very little resistance on the drivers side I've PB blaster'd the passenger side for another night.

So the rear shocks and springs are done the back of the car is much stiffer. Nor does it bounce anymore. Everything came apart fairly easily :)

Put the replacement steering wheel in and the rest of the interior. This is as good as it gets.

Just need to put in the new front door speakers.
