have a 00 hatch, is it a OBD2, and doing engine swap and wondering if this b18c complete change over (94-00) is a OBD1 or a OBD2, because I want to use OBD1 because its programmable, and could use hondata. What if the b18c comes with a ecu p72, do I change the one from my hatch to it. Do I need to get my ecu, or engine tuned after I switch the ecu

94-95 = obd1
96-98 = obd2a
99-01 = obd2b

you can use an obd1 ecu on any of them. just need a obd2b -> 1 conversion harness for the ecu to pluginto your car, and if the motor is an obd2, you need to convert the IAB to negative activation. see the 5th gen civic swap section for more info on that.

as for the p72- again, it covers 3 obd's, so it really depends what year you buy if its obd1 or not.
