I am replacing the passenger side axle on my civic and all went well till I went to remove the disconnected axle. It did not come out thru the gap in the lower end of the strut. CV's on both sides were too big. The next step would have to be removing the strut so to remove the axle. Is this the case or is there some other maneuver that I can do that would avoid strut removal?
Thanks for the help.

naa you got to remove the lower bolt, the top of the strut dont haver to be taken out but just take the lower bolt out that holds it in place

Thanks for the post on that. I did pull off the bolt earlier and made a happy union of the new axle. It just was not what I had expected to need to do when I went into it. Yet, it was no thing.
