okay something is ALWAYS wrong with this stupid car, fix one thing and something else goes out. this time something electrical. ugh. this morning i got up to go to the chiropractor and went to start my car and the battery is dead. great. jump it with my dads car and let it run for about 5-10 minutes, its fine, so i take my dads car and when i come back its dead again, what could it be besides the battery? i think it may be the amp draining it, if i could get out of the chair without my back killing me i'd go unhook them and jump it and drive it around but i cant really get up right now. somebody help please.

use multimeter, check draw on battery. something is sucking it down and you can sort out which circuit it's on. not hard work, and kinda like a puzzle. attitude is everything :)

don't forget that we choose to own and drive these cars for whatever our reasons are. if you don't want to deal with the maintenance and quirks, go drive a geo metro.

i dont have a multimeter, ill have to go steal one from my grandpa lol, im thinking it just needs to be nice forever so my dad always rides his motorcycle so i get his car lol, and how would you check the draw? go off fuses? also, i dont think its supposed to be like this, but the underhood fuse block has a wire ran to it straight from the battery so those are always on, but its never been a problem before

why would that cause a draw? wouldnt that cut off electricity flow?

:werd: fuses blown would NOT cause a power draw

i would unhook the amp, recharge the battery, then after it is fully charged let it sit for a couple hours and try to start it. If it starts then your problem is the amp, if it doesnt i would blame a bad battery, if it starts then dies i would say alternator

i unhooked my amp and its been about 2 hours and it still has voltage so i think its my amp, i know its not the alternator i just replaced it and it has plenty of voltage when started, so i THINK it was my amp for some reason
