Well after some advice from a guy I know and more advice from you guys I painted the car again. I painted every removable peice so far except the trim. A couple of the panels came out with a little orange peel, some didn't (I was surprised). There is also a timy bit of dust. Are these worth sanding down with 1500-2000 grit or would some rubbing compound and a buffer remove the imperfections do you think?

compound wouldn't do anything for the orange peel, and only help the dirt imperfections if they were on the surface like they got there while it was drying. I'd wetsand and buff, just remember to watch those edges.

Get some 2000 grit wetsanding paper and block it, as said before watch the edges it's pretty easy for a newbie to burn through. Block it flat and buff. If you have any more questions shoot me a IM @ xyswany or PM me.

what color is the car? if its black or very dark, i wouldnt mess with it.
you could create a bigger mess then your wanting to deal with. If it's a lighter
color then it shouldnt be a big deal. REMEMBER, each layer of paint is
roughly 2-4mils thick. 1mil is equal to the thickness of your average
sheet of notebook paper. Doesnt take much to cut through it or burn it
