ok...i have the d16z6head...and i want to put it on my b7 block..i have a 91 crx si....its already wired up for Vtec...but from what ive been told,i will need a "si or Ex" ecu from that year (92-95 vtec ecu)...but then ive also been told i wont need it...now im prepared to buy that ecu on thursday..but im trying to figure out if i can put the head on without it...can someone help me out...right now im running the dx motor off of my stock si ecu.

thanks.

CRX SI came with a D16A6 not a D15b7
Im not sure if you swapped that block in or what.
Anyways you have to have either a vtec or nonvtec OBD1 ecu
NON vtec ecu=vtec on a switch

Having a vtec ecu from 92-92 EX,SI,VX will have vtec activate when it reaches the required rpm

Im not sure what you mean its already wired for vtec

If you're going to add a VTEC ECU, you'll need to convert the car to OBD1. If you don't want to use a VTEC ECU, you can add a piggyback VTEC controller like the Apex'i VAFC.
