And you thought Doom 3 needed shitloads of resources.

Excellent graphics nonetheless.

:werd: I'm going to have to upgrade once for Doom3 (not fast enough) and again for Unreal 3... crazy. Hopefully it won't come out until next year or something. :)

I was expecting something auto associated <_<

:)

Nah, if I posted something auto related, it wouldn't be in the Members' Lounge.

My machine runs Doom3 just fine. Athlon XP 2500+ Barton @ 2.3 GHZ 400FSB, 512 DDR400, Radeon 9800XT. On high detail, 1024x768, everything on but shadows, I get between 40 and 50 FPS.

I've got a creaky old GeForce Ti4200 that's overclocked a bit... but it needs some help in Doom3. At 800x600, everything's ok- but I need.... MORE!

Oh, I know... I need money first though. I've got about $2k of upgrades planned for the computer, including a beefier water block for both the CPU and the GPU.

I know the feeling. I dropped 425 on the 9800XT and not a month later the X800 series came out. I was pissed. But yeah, I plan on making the move to the Athlon FX series processors on my next major upgrade.

Same here- new motherboard, A64 FX CPU, GF 6800 or X800, at least 2 gigs of RAM... a Raptor or two (or might go back to wonderful lag free SCSI)- that should tide me over for another year or so.
