Was using Nero 7 now everything is f'ed up

I was using Nero 7 and everthing was going great now I get a shell manager corrupted messege and cannot burn a cd or dvd or even install/uninstall the program. I looked around the web and people suggested doing stuff with the registry or restoring from a previous point. I tried the restore but nothing worked. does anyone have any other suggestions? or can you any of you tell me what the hell the shell manger is/does?

i would tell you exactly what to do...but people are gettin tired of me putting my advice in threads...since im the new guy and all...figured this forum would be like that...what forum isnt right? anyways...ill just stick with my accord section when i need help on somethin technical
