What max tire size can I run with 17x9 rims??

umm.... what are you putting those on???

and probablly the widest you could go on those would be 285

Oh, I'm not planning on actually getting them, I was just curious about the tire widths. Just trying to learn things. Thanks!

all you need is an inches to MM conversion, then whatever it comes out to be would be a good size to put on your wheel

Having the tread width match the wheel width measurement is rarely ideal... usually it's about an inch wider, especially in the wheel sizes that we normally play with. Ideal tread width for a wheel depends greatly on tire construction and profile. Most tire manufacturers will have a recommended tire size listed for each tire and tire size. Just look it up.
