it makes me think of a br-z wrx more than an impreza wrx. anyone else feel that way too?

Yea... but personally, I think the Wrx needs a new facelift anyways. Might as well go with something radical instead of playing the Honda game and keep releasing watered down piss versions of the new Civic. The new Elantra has more personality than a new Civic these days.

To me its like the 04'-06' Pontiac GTO. Its not a bad looking car but not really a descendant of previous generations. I see some styling cues I like, and some I'm really not in to.

Looking at the body lines fender to door to fender.. definitely has similar lines to the brz/frs, but with 4drs

To me it looks like the design of the concept could be set in stone and green lighted for production. I'm sure they'll change a few hundred things before then, but as it sits I can see this car selling like hot cakes...

I think it's fucking great, basically.

Keep in mind this is a concept. Not even a "sneak peek" at any planned upcoming model. I think they've said this is what the WRX could look like someday. But everyone on NASIOC is touting this as the 2014 or 2015 model. I'm highly skeptical. For one, all concepts get watered down to shit. Two, the front end is way to short for this to be AWD. Either the nose will be longer, or the wheelbase will be shorter in the real version.

Also Subaru has said they were going to split the Impreza and the WRX/STi. It will no longer be an Impreza WRX/STi, just WRX/STi. Think along the lines of the Lancer and the EVO. Similar, but different chassis.

Because the engine is in front of the transmission. Subaru AWD trannies have axles that come out perpendicular from the transmission. You can move the engine back all you want, but the tranny moves back with it. Try to imagine the placement of the engine/tranny in relation to the wheel. As it sits, if there was actually anything under the hood of that concept (which I'm certain there isn't, honestly it's probably a painted ball of clay) the wheel would be sitting about mid way at the engine.

After looking at the rear and side more... it resembles a GTR.. front fender body line/ vent...exhaust/ valance
