So you know I got fucked over by Fort Wayne Nissan (owned by the Bob Rohrman Auto Group of theives and morons)...if you didn't, look at my sig, and the other thread that's in here somewhere...

Anyway, Today wasn't a wasted saturday... I managed to get up at 10:00 or so... So I went over to my work and got my dad, we went out from 10:30 to 4:30...minus about 20 minutes for lunch, we visited every fucking car lot in Fort Wayne. Both Toyotas, both lincoln mercuries, both fords, the dodge, honda, subaru, kelley chevrolet, saturn, even Mercedes benz (they're one of our customers)

ANYWAY, I found two cars that actually peaked my interest. One was that Black 2000 Civic SI 5 speed I mentioned before. It has 35k miles on it and it stickered for $15,995 (they dropped it to $15,750 since last wednesday) **Now I know it was like 24/10 in favor of the 2.5RS but the nearest Subey dealer (that IS NOT Bob Rohrman owned (he's never getting my money)), is well over an hour away.

The 2nd car I found was a Red 2000 Toyota Celica GT, 5 speed. Never found out the price & it wasn't on the window. Looked good except one big scratch on the rear bumper. I Loved the gauges, they start straight down and work their way clockwise.

I test drove the Civic and noticed that the mileage put on the shifter wasn't helped with the fact the idiot who leased it for the 3 year term probably rested his arm on the shifter, it was wobbley as fuck, but not NEARLY as bad as my Escorts. A simple B&M Short throw shifter would help, wouldn't it? I think so.

The only cosmetic problems I saw was the pinstripes on the front quarter panel that go thru the door to the rear, there was a little chunk missing and there was a very very very very small (like 1/2 a dime in size) dent inbetween the two windshield squirters. The radio for some reason wouldn't tune into any station which I found odd, even after I pulled the antenna out. So we went in to talk about the money, and he decided to drop the price to $15,500 for some reason. I told him I had $1000 to put down (I do...seriously I do), and he said give us $100 and if no luck, we'll refund it. Fine by me. So Monday at High noon, I'll know if I can get myself a car that my brother owned and loved. (he had a red 00 SI)

What I wanna know is, if I can get this fuckin car, what would be the best way to upgrade it without spending much money? I'd like to get a new shifter, and a cold air intake. (to hear the Vtec kick in) Is there anything I should watch out for? should I try to do some basic maintenance on the B16 or just let it be until 60k miles??

:cliffs:

Woke up at 10:30
Drove around all day with my dad.
went to all the fuckin lots in Fort Wayne
Found two cars that I liked: 2000 Celica GT, 2000 Civic SI
Test drove the SI and put 100 down.
Waiting till Monday for my credit check.
Want to know the cheapest mods first.

if you pay 16 grand for a fucking civic, i will personally fly out to Idnianna, slap you, and proceed to get back on the next plane.

the car is wort 12,500 in MINT condition with 35k on it.

So then fly here and talk the bitches down 4 grand.

These are pretty much my options. it's either this or one of the 28338948393 Buick Regal GS's I've seen around town. I want a sports car.

Edit: KBB says in good condition it's worth: Retail Value of $14,925

So I'm paying 400 over KBB. whoopty fucking doo. It's my first car...sorta...I know i'm gonna get screwed.

look harder. look online. fuck man, if you got cash, give me 14, and i'll personally buy you a civic out here and drive it to you, and pocket 2-3k for my time.

I don't have all the time in the world to look online. Look for me. Search for cars near the zip code of 46774.

its your car and your money. i don't have time for that either. All i'm saying, is bend over, grab your ankles, and spell outloud R-U-N repeatedly.

:shrug2:

Gotta start somewhere. I don't want to have to worry about being approved for my STi when I eventually go to get one.

he wants a "performance car".....so he told me. but you can do alot of shit to an EX sleepergtx. heres what i did to a 97 Civic EX :)

of corse doing the exterior isnt your cup of tea...but you get an idea that you can do alot to a Civic EX. oh and besides it will be a little cheaper on insurance :)

I hate kbb they are always fucking overestiamte shit!!! Look at the black book value of the car it is much lower than that!!

You should only pay around 13k for that car.

Who says I'm keeping the car until it's completely paid off anyway? I might have it for a good two or three years and then trade it in for a brand new car which I will get approved for on my own finally if this even goes through.

It is the BLUE book. And I thought I saw an SI up there, but it was 75 miles away. If you are going to finance it, then sell it, take it at whatever price it is at, and only lower the interest rate. Then you will eventually get some value back in the long run.

definently especially since the other 1 doesn't have a working radio, has a chunk out of the pinstripe and a small dent
also I'm sure u cantalk the blue people down a bit

EDit: almost forgot the shifter is wobbly on the black one as well

bah. I don't care about the dent, I'll prolly have the pin stripes removed anyway (sleeper look...yeah read my name) and the dealer is looking at the radio making sure the connections are ok, and I listen to cds 90% of the time. Besides it's all still under warrenty anyway.

Are you going to spend $900 in gas driving out there? I hope not, either you're spoiled and $900 dollars isn't a big deal, or you are just lazy. The $900 you save, will give you you're short shifter, intake, and a header.

I agree with B, I wouldn't spend $15,000 on a 2000 SI either. Hell for $3000 more you can get a 2003 SI hatch new here (GA). Although my civic is a lesser model (dx) when I bought mine in 2000 it was 3 years old (97) and I only paid $8000 for mine including a gold extended warranty. I say shop around. You may have to go a little out of your way to get what you want (my girl and I drove 4 hrs to ATL to get her 240sx) but if it'll save you money then its worth it.

hes trying to make his payments as little as possible hence why he wants to put $1000 down...

My payments are only 252.91 a month (60 months) but I plan on keeping the car as a toy.
