:(my HID's keep blowing the driver side fuse .. i install my hid looking at the clubrsx.com instructiong and they sayd to put a 30 fuse and it works at the passenger side but for the driver side its not working .. maybe puting a bigger fuse ?? OH AND THE FOG LIGHTS WHEN OF TOO , ITS THERE A FUSE FOR THE FOG LIGHT ? please help meeeee :eek::(

at least your bulbs aren't blowing; my silverstars do simultaneously about every 6 months ($40 a set, sigh). i still can't sort it out, fuses and wiring are fine.

Don't get me started on your stupid 'HID Kit'. Do it right, or don't do it. In your case, you need to rip that kit out, and step away from the internet.




It's because you bought cheap ballasts.

The cheap ballasts draw 15-20A on startup, then gently ramp down to 3A over about a minute.
Expensive ballasts draw 8A on startup, then ramp down quickly to 2.5A. Expensive ballasts can be run on the stock wiring harness, but I wouldn't.

Invest in better stuff now, before you melt your wiring harness. You did use a piggyback harness, didn't you?

Cheap ballasts tend to blow up more often too, mainly because the dilectric isn't as good, and they'll short to the case, thus frying. Spending $50 twice a year, or spending $175 once; it's your choice.
 
what brand is good ? i got this set from a friend.. because i help him fix up his house ..

Just make sure you get real ones, not knock-off ballasts.




And please, please, please, please: Ditch the rebased bulbs and do a proper retrofit.
 
he is right you are better off going with a name brand product also you dont want to put a bigger fuse because if you do you can burn out or short whatever that fuse is linked too. That specified fuse allows a certian amount of amps to go through if you put a higher rated fuse your allowing more amps than what the system can handle
 
i connected the other side (working side) ballast to the side that it not working and it works just fine . i also connected the "bad" ballast to the side that is working and it blow the fuse so is the ballast thats no good . another thing . the fuse that the car had was a 20 and in the clubrsx.com web site says to put a 30. its that not good ??
 
You're a moron. You've got those rebased bulbs.

I hope you get an enormous ticket for dazzling a cop.
 
my hid are fine in my rsx at least you got the problem fixed

why you always talking SH*T... what i understand this web site is to help people and talk about each other rides. not for hateing.... the hids i got are cheap but it was a gift from a friend that dont know shit about cars.. its the only thing that is cheap on my car.. i got dc sport headers and hks exhaust and neuspeed strut bars and next im going to get is motor mount and kproooo,,, ^_^ go to www.youtube.com thats the place to hate.

I am trying to help you with your car. If you'd actually listen, and read, you'd know that. There's a reason certain things are illegal to do with/put on cars.

I could care less what you have on your car. I don't care if you spent $50, or $50000 on it. Go blow your $1000 JDM Dual-Tone OEM Horn somewhere else.

Youtube is a place that I would expect to see your car on. That isn't a place to hate, it's a place to laugh at people like you that can't do things right the first time.

This is a public internet forum. If you don't like the opinions and advice of others, leave. Nobody will care or miss you if you go.

If you knew the product you got was cheap, why did you bother installing them? Why not sell them to some other ricer, which I am sure you know many, and get something worthwhile?

And how is it possible to have headers on your car? You must have some uber-rare mAdTyTeJdM motor if you have more than one header under the hood. Makes you look retarded when you claim that there is nothing "cheap" on your car, yet you can't even remember that Honda's only have one header.
