Oh, I do a little here and there.
So I replaced my gay ass stock exhaust with huge fart cannon finally!
With a Buddy Club Spec 2 full catback exhaust system and a test pipe. It's deafening with no silencer but with the silencer in it sounds just perfect, not too loud, awesome deep tone, and the tip of the pipe isn't a ridiculously large cannon.
But the only thing is it friggin rattles like crazy sometimes. Seems like it has to start right before I shift every time. All the rubber pieces for the hangers are...well they get the job done but they're cracked all over
, except for one of the 2 rear ones so I wrapped that sumbitch with duct tape, put on some zip ties, and covered that with some more duct tape for a nice cheap fix. When I rechecked the underside I couldn't find any metal touching anything other than the rubber mounts for the hangers or the bolts I tightened (or the ghetto mount I made).
Is it rattling because of the exhaust piping vibrating or do some older cars just do that?
Anyone else who's installed a spec 2 before knows the pipe inserts are supposed to have these springs (2 on each side where the pipes insert at 2 different spots) holding them together, but I just started driving it without them cause I was lazy. Could these have something to do with it?
The noise is driving me nuts, instead of going from constantly rattling fart cannon to awesome bad ass sounding cat-back I've just gone from constantly rattling shitty-sounding fart cannon to awesome bad ass sounding cat-back with annoying rattle covering up the awesome sound you're supposed to hear.
Damn this is a huge post.
