Hey guys... Im very disapointed tonite. I finished putting the head back on my car. Everything went fine till I started it. Water and oil began leaking from the front left corner of the head gasket. Pretty bad too, took the cams back off and tightened it another 10 lbs. Same result, it was a freakin Cometic head gasket at that. My back is killing me and now I dont know what to do.

Was this a rebuild of a motor with a preveous blown head gasket??? If so did you mill down the block before putting on the new gasket??? just a few ideas, also did you check the headgasket for failures before installing it. That is were I would start

Good Luck

sounds like you didn't replace the headbolts. Honda headbolts are torque to yield, meaning they can only be used 1 time.

The motor was fine till it started blowing some oil out of cylinder #3. Never overheated or anything. I got the head milled just in case and bought anew head gasket.

I dont have Honda head bolts. I have ARP studs. I replaced the head gasket again today and it still does it. except now its not leaking water anymore. Only oil.

Have you resurfaced the head? Pressure test? You are sure it's not the crank oil seal right?

ya, were are you leaking oil from now?? if ya got the head resurfaced and a new gasket..then I would be with ntenc1 on the oil seal, even something elts attached to the motor, only other thing I can think of is ya dizz on tight enough lmao

The head is torqued to spec and in the correct order. I torqued it with a brand new MAC torque wrench so I beleive its calibrated right. Its not a seal because I can see the oil coming out from between the head and the block rite underneath the thermostat housing. I thought it mite be the disty O ring but its not. Its definatly coming from the head gasket guys. I guess i'll have to take it all apart again.
