I was looking at the Edelbrock turbo kit for my gsr, but I cant come to any of my seneses and cough up the 5 grand for it. Its looks so sexy under the the hood and it comes with everthing i need to run with stock internals and pass emisions. Question to everyone, is it worth the price for what you get in proforance, or is it just the Edelbrock name thats im paying for?

its only worth the money if you live in CA and have to deal w/ the smog bullshit.. otherwise, no

I would go with Full-Race instead personally, especially for that kind of money. Though if they have what you want, by all means, go for it. Here is the link to Full-Race: Full-Race Motorsports LLC Call us toll free at (866) FULL-RACE

You could also https://hondaswap.com/turbo-information/building-homemade-turbo-kit-81384/#post759117 check out that link and build your own turbo kit. :D

+1 on the Full-Race.. thats who im going to use

Full race would be nice but im running stock internals so dont wanta push it to much. Plus its a daily driver so i want it to be reliable. And I dont live in cali. so i dont have to worry about smog but I do have to go threw emissions and they check for exhaust put out and stuff. Let me see what other companys make reasonable kits.

You can always go with the Peak-Boost or Full Race kit, and dial it back. Then, you could still run it on stock internals, and be just as reliable as the Edelbrock kit.

Indeed. It's a much better kit as far as I am concerned for around the same price, PLUS, should you decide to fortify your internals...BOOYAH! More power. :D

Werd. Doesnt the Edelbrock kit use a log manifold? For that reason alone, Id take the Peak-Boost or Full Race over Edelbrock.

well the edelbrock kit does come with a piggy back system that is pretuned so you dont have to worry about any of that

That "pre tune" is still no better than a mail order tune. I wouldnt run it.

the pre tune is a very safe and conservitive tune for the engine that it was intended to be used and is very safe and is much better than any mail order tune. There is lots of R&D in there tune to make it safe and carb legal. Kenny Bell also provides a tune with there blower kits and its 100% safe. Wait there are lots of big name companies that offer a tune with there product. If you use it as described on its intended engine you will be completly safe. Do you think that honda tunes every car from the factory no. They do R&D and flash that on every engine of its kind.

I forgot to ask before but what is your budget as far as turbo parts go or do you not have one yet? I ask this because at times, having patience and taking your time in piecing together your own kit can save you a buck or two...kind of like switching to Geico for car insurance. :D

Does Honda boost every motor they build? No.

My point is, if your gunna spend that kinda money on turbo parts, why would you cheap out on a tune. Why run a piggy back at all?

+1 on that. if ur willing to shell out $5000 for a pre-assembled setup, how could you not got the full tune route?

x2 on what newb said. A tune done in car will ALWAYS be better than any Edelbrock, Kenny Bell, John BoJangles the tuner JR, I dont care who does the tune. If it's done from a desk 3000 miles away from the car its going on, it wont be as good as one done in the seat.
