Or just don't eat it and hop in the shower afterwards.

yes. nicotene isn't bad for you... no worse than caffine really. its the tar and crap that's bad

yes... you can get different levels of nicotine, from retardedly high (36mg/ml) to none (0mg/ml)
it is essentially a nicotine inhaler
so it can be used like the patch and as a step down device
or it can be used as a replacement for smoking
i have some friends who use them about 50% of the time and cut back on regular smokes

i have been using mine exclusively since easter sunday... i smoked one clove at claytons party... and that was simply because i like cloves... other than that i havent had a regular cigarette in a month

it is not exactly like smoking, but it is close enough that i do not miss cigarettes at all... this is actually a big part of why i bought the model i did... it looks and feels very similar to a regular cigarette, so it doesnt feel like a novelty or toy to me... there are several other models out there, some similar, some drastically different, most performing different as well... some better, many worse...
there were a few times when i first started using it that i kinda wanted a regular cigarette... but the feeling went away after a few seconds... now, i couldnt give a shit about having a regular cigarette... in fact i think they smell like shit now :)

i am not of the belief that electronic cigarettes are "healthy"... but i know that i do feel considerably better since i started using them rather than regular cigarettes... and seriously, they cant be worse

i bought mine as a cigarette replacement... i like smoking and did not want to quit... i use it the same way that i would a regular cigarette... i do not smoke in my car, i do not smoke inside... i enjoy having smoke breaks at work, i enjoy having a smoke after eating, i enjoy having a smoke at the bar, i enjoy having a smoke while drinking coffee with friends

i do notice that i smoke this less than a regular cigarette... it is not uncommon for me to take 1-3 drags and put it away, rather than the 10+ it would take me for a regular cigarette... i also find that i smoke it less often... probably smoking the equivalent of a pack every 3-4 days

the model i have is a 2 piece design (loong totem) with disposable atomized cartridges (as opposed to the more common 3 piece designs) i got it from epuffer.com
i also got some of the liquid so that i can refill my cartridges and get the full life out of the atomizers in them... i can generally get about a week on 1 cartridge now... i top off the carts with 2-4 drops of fluid at night and they are generally good for the whole next day... 1 cart costs me about $1.70 including refill liquid for the week, as opposed to about $35+ i was spending (or $15ish i would be spending at my current smoking level) on Marbs... so after my initial buy in, i am definitely spending less money (i am actually ahead of the game now, if i was buying cigarettes i would have spent the money it cost me to get the e-cig starter kit and the liquid by now)

there are a LOT of options out there, i found out about these last summer, and have done a lot of research on the different models and brands since then... if anyone has any questions, please ask... there are a lot of shitty models and companies that would be best left alone

the model i have works well for me... it is not the model i would recommend to everyone though
there are different designs and models that would work better based on your wants and needs...

its not cheap to get into... but so far, i have no regrets

I've thought they were a cool concept since they came out... but never had a need for them. So the reports of the nicotene mix possibly being unsafe (uncontrolled) are unfounded? Probably just scare tactics from the cigarette companies.

mostly BS

the mix contains (in most cases) 4 ingredients: water, propylene glycol, (or vegetable glycerin) nicotine, and flavoring

the propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin are both pretty much harmless and are in several things people eat, or use multiple times a day... they are used to thicken the solution and give them more of a cloud look when heated by the atomizer (kinda like a smoke machine) to give them more of a "smoking" feel
nicotine is not good for you, but its also not the part of a cigarette that kills you like the tar, and other 400+ known carcinogens and poisons in them
water is water, and actually they use purified water to give more consistent results
the flavoring is food grade and generally harmless

these are all things that have been tested by the FDA and are approved for human consumption in several other products... they are not however tested in this product, for this use... so everyone is making a big deal about it...
many doctors have given their blessing, basically saying at worst its still better than the alternative of smoking regular cigarettes

these ingredients are heated with the atomizer, and produce a vapor cloud (again like a smoke machine) you inhale it, the nicotine is delivered in a similar manor as smoking, you exhale a cloud of mostly water vapor that quickly dissipates (ive actually noticed my nose is not as dry and i have not been getting nose bleeds :) )

there is no flame, no 'smoke', no heat, no ash, no butts, and virtually no smell,
the smell is very minor and depends on the flavor you are using (very mild, often sweet and sometimes almost incense like)... it also doesnt linger in your clothes hair and skin or breath

the only real issues with the liquids that i have heard of are:
some of the early runs of refill liquids from one company were not filtered enough and were clogging atomizers... and some people have a mild reaction to the propylene glycol and get a sore scratchy throat feeling from it, so several companies started offering the vegetable glycerin liquids
other than that, its all subjective opinion type stuff, some liquids do not produce as much vapor, some have weak flavors, some dont have enough "throat hit" (too smooth)

oh wow. i know i quit smoking in oct and my bf just recently quit as well but we both did it cold turkey. they have these stands in my mall tho that sell this thing and it just freaks me out honestly lol. congrats to you for quitting cigs but are you going to quit all together on the nicotine or what?

for me, i bought this because i didnt want to quit... i enjoy the act of smoking, i dont give a crap about the nicotine... i dont get "nic-fits" when i dont smoke... i regularly would go days or weeks without smoking, and would not have any issues... i have "smoked" unlit cigarettes before and got about the same effect that i would have from lighting it... i guss for me its more of a physical compulsion than a chemical addiction :shrug2:
i might try the 0mg/ml liquid next time i buy some... im currently using the 6mg/ml, which is lower than an ultralight... i also want to find a stronger menthol flavor... i want to feel like im chewing up a wint-o-green lifesaver :D

oh... and the mall kiosk ones... i think the brand is "Smoking Everywhere"... they are not worth buying... they do not produce much vapor... they do not have good battery life... they have mediocre atomizers... they leak... they are WAY over priced for the style

you can get much better models of that type for less money...

I'm inclined to agree, however nicotine in itself can block arteries. At least that is what I was told by the hospital after one of our coworkers went in for a routine checkup and it was found that he had a 70% blockage due to nicotine in a few of his arteries, and thus had to have quintuplet (<-- right word here? I dunno) bypass.

Of course I kind of found it unfounded and somewhat biased, because this 63 year old man has worked for 40 years as a tech eating a Number 1 with coke everywhere he went too.

there has been a bunch of links posted in the thread!

and you mis-spelt "Idiocracy" in your sig.
